Champions League: Five Manchester United players Branded ‘flops’ after 3-0 defeat to Barcelona

Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League last night, and their players have been given a dressing down in the media.

French publication, L’Equipe has picked out five players who failed to make the grade at the Nou Camp.

Phil Jones, who was given the run around by two-goal hero Lionel Messi, was branded “terrible” after twice being given the run around by the superstar.

David De Gea was at fault for Messi’s second goal, a week after his heroics in the first leg and was picked out for that very blunder.

Fred, who has been in and out of the United side this season, impressed in parts with his technical play, but it was not deemed sufficient.

Anthony Martial was given the thumbs up for his performance in the first five minutes. The Frenchman, however, failed to make an impact up against Sergi Roberto and was replaced by Diogo Dalot.

Ashley Young was criticised for losing his own duel with Messi although he was commended for never giving up the fight.
