“inconsolable” De Gea apologized to his Teammates after his Blunder
Manchester United goalkeeper, David de Gea, was “inconsolable” after his howler saw his side play a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, apologising to his teammates.
De Gea on Sunday night at Old Trafford spilled the ball at Marcos Alonso’s feet following Antonio Rudiger’s speculative 35-yard shot.
De Gea was said to be furious with himself for the costly error and apologised to the rest of the team in the dressing room at half time.
“He [De Gea] held his hands up at half-time and said sorry to the guys and said he had f***ed up,” a source at United told The Sun UK.
“He could not believe he had done it and was absolutely gutted. He felt like he had let the whole team and Ole down.
“The boss told him to forget about it and focus on the second-half which he did and made a couple of good saves.”
Man United are currently in sixth position on the Premier League table with 65 points from 36 games.
