INEC results’ Interpreter Stabbed by Unknown Persons

Peter Oyekale, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC results interpreter in sign languages for the 2019 elections, has been stabbed.

This is according to a report on social media which shows the man lying in critical condition on a hospital bed.

A certain Chidi Topaz shared on Facebook:

“The sad news is reaching me that one of the top Interpreters in the Deaf Community: Mr. Peter Oyekale was stabbed and now lies in Critical Condition.

Mr. Peter Oyekale was the official INEC Sign Language interpreter during the 2019 Presidential Election Collation results. What caused the stabbing and its reason remains unknown yet.

I at this moment call on everyone to join us in prayer as we pray for his quick recovery.”
