Government suspends Headmistress of school which sent home viral Warri school girl

Mrs. Vero Igbigwe, the headmistress of Okotie-Eboh Primary School 1, Sapele Local Government of the state, has been suspended by the Delta State Government. The suspension is linked to the viral video of Success Adegor, a student of the school who got sent home for not paying fees.

According to the Delta State Commissioner for Education, Barr. Chiedu Ebie, the headmistress was suspended because she could not explain the collection of examination fees from pupils, an act which was exposed by viral video.

Mr Chiedu Ebie stated that the state operated a free education policy, and couldn’t understand why the school head was demanding levy or any other unauthorised levies from pupils.
