Event organisers Charterhouse Productions have apologised to patrons of their Ghana Rocks 2018 concert after one of the headline acts was absent at the show.

Nigerian dancehall star, Burnaboy was scheduled to perform on a bill which included the likes of American R&B star Jidenna but was not in Ghana for the event.

According to Charterhouse in a statement signed by George Quaye, Burnaboy's mother who doubles as his manager explained that this was because at another show the night before the Ye singer inhaled some tear gas after police used the substance to disperse a stampede.

The statement added that Burnaboy suffered an adverse reaction to the gas and was rushed to a hospital in the morning, causing him to miss a scheduled flight to Accra.

"In anticipation of his discharge, the flight was rescheduled to evening. When they could not make the evening flight either, arrangements were made for an emergency private charter flight to get him here at all cost for his performance at Ghana Rocks. We were hopeful he would be part of the show as the last act till all efforts fell through at the last minute," the statement said.
