The Lufthansa Group has named Mrs Adenike Macaulay as its new General Manager, Sales, for Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.
According to the airline, the new GM will resume on January 1, 2019 and take charge of all the commercial and sales activities of the Lufthansa Group in Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea, as the first Nigerian female to take this position.
The group said Macaulay started her career at Lufthansa in 2009 as a business analyst for West Africa, responsible for regional results analysis, market and ad hoc reporting, competitor monitoring and sales planning.
It added, “In 2010, she took over the leadership of the team as regional marketing manager, directing marketing activities as well as business analysis, pricing and sales support across seven regions in West and Central Africa. Five years later, Macaulay assumed the position of Senior Manager, Customer, Products and Marketing for sub-Saharan Africa, directing customer relations, product management and marketing activities across sub-Saharan Africa.
“In 2017, her position transitioned into the Head Sales, Products and Programmes, where she was responsible for the development and optimisation of sales products, business-to-business incentive programmes, sales promotions and sales service processes across the sub-Saharan Africa region.
“In her new appointment, Macaulay will be based in Lagos, succeeding Mr Robin Sohdi, who held this position since the beginning of January 2016. Macaulay will report to the Senior Director, Sales, sub-Saharan Africa, Lufthansa Group, Mr Philippe Saeys-Desmedt, based in Brussels, the new regional headquarters of Lufthansa Group sub-Saharan Africa.”
