Ghana`s locally-Built Drones to Boost Agriculture
SKTAERO Shutter introduces locally-built drones to boost agriculture
It appears the future of farming will be very exciting as we gradually shift to the use of drone technology.
In recent weeks, the technology has been widely discussed in the media following government’s decision to use drones to distribute medical materials to inaccessible areas.
A technology company known as SKT AERO Shutter has introduced locally-built drones to boost agriculture.
The drones are built in two frames, with one in the mode of an aeroplane and can be flown for more than an hour.
The manufacturers say these drones will make work simple for farmers and others in other industries.
“Drone technology is quite new [but] we have a unique opportunity here where it just came and we can take advantage of it.
“We want to make sure that more of the youth get engrossed in the technology which can transform the continent,” Managing Director Derrick Annan told Joy News.
He said the drones have many uses, including monitoring agricultural fields and being used to detect crop diseases.
According to him, they can also be used to spray crops on the farm, which is far easier than applying manual methods.
